The first nite I met Zak was by chance.
I had been at Covenant Church for
quite a few months before finally
finding the Young Adults events &
services.  After a great word that nite
in March I convinced myself reluctantly
to join the Young Adults at the
California Pizza Kitchen after service.  I
was tired...tired and TIRED.  On my
way over there I just kept talking myself
into going to have a good time.  I had
grown tired of having few close friends.
 I needed some more!

When I arrived I saw the group there
chatting.  I only knew the leader by
name and email.  She introduced me
to a few people.  Then I just quietly
listened to everyone chatting and as
the night went on...I noticed that the
guy in front of me was also pretty
quiet.  However, that didn't last long
especially after getting on subjects that
brought out STORIES from various
stages in life.  His name was Zak.

We spent the rest of the nite chatting
and talking and really truly just
enjoying each others' company.  I saw
something in him right away that was
special.  HE DIDNT HIT ON ME!!!!

Of course after about 4 months or
more of true friendship God had
confirmed to be long before that...that
he was THE ONE for me.  All I had to
do was just wait and be patient for the
timing of everything.

Sure enough July 25, 2004 Zak
stepped up and decided to court me.
Courtship is the process starting with
commitment all the way until marriage
and of course after marriage.  We
never did "date".  People had always
told me that it would not happen like
that, but it did.  I prayed for it and God
blessed me.  TRULY.

I had so many things on my personal
list that confirmed everything that HE
was...God had heard me and given me
my checklist!!!  Here are a few of the
funny ones...that I thought God would
really not want to honor....

~funky last name
~different background (did not move a
lot as a kid)
~man of God, not of world
~tall
~weighs more than me

So you can see, that was just a partial
list that I had narrowed down over the
years.  I love how God took even my
silliest requests into consideration.  He
gave me a Sulak.  *smile*
