the main reason for writing though! I had a fun filled weekend w/ 3 young hip chicks!
Thursday (3/13): They have arrived! I got home from work to discover 3 hungry little chickies! We opted to drive around the
addison area until something stood out! We ended up at Macaroni Grill where we proceeded to draw w/ crayons all over the table! I
of course did my street team duty writing www.blueman.com and many other Blue Man tidbits to get the word out about the summer
tour. We had some good food and good conversation. It was funny that our waiter was named Jason and when he introduced himself
he drew on the table...a "J" and a sun. Clever eh? heehee. Yes very. :) Well the rest of the night...we spent at Valley View mall. Us
girls love to shop! OH YES! We found a couple of kewl stores and by the time we were done...the mall was closing! The rest of the
night...was chillin and getting ready for the next day.
Friday (3/14): I had to work of course. They got to spend all day in the Galleria shopping their lil hearts out! hahaha. I called
throughout the day to check on them to make sure they weren't lost or anything and they spent a majority of the day just there and
ONLY there! haahah. So about 400pm I called to let them know to be home ASAP so I could get into the apartment. I got home and
we all started getting ready for the big friday nite agenda! Our plan was to go to the Magic Time Machine & Club DNA in deep
ellum. We left kinda late and by the time we got to MTM it was about an hour and 15 min. wait. We stood there debating...stay/go
stay/go. We STAYED. Thank goodness for that cause it ended up being REALLY FUN! Poison Ivy was our waitress and was very
funny. Our table was inside kindof a crayon house and we had 2 small windows to peer out of to see the action and other characters!
We saw a couple of Robin Hood/Peter Pan types...and Buckwheat & Superman! The food selection was slim but come to find
out...there was all you can eat salad bar. By the time we were done eating...I had decided I MUST flag down superman to take a
picture w/ him. haha! As we were leaving...I tapped him on the shoulder and ended up in this funky picture position and only the
picture can describe! haha! Needless to say...it was FUN! Ashley flagged down Frodo (from LOTR) and went all ga-ga over him
pretty much like I did for superman! haha. Then we were off to Deep Ellum! It took maybe 30 minutes...and we were down there.
Club DNA was just a short distance from where we parked and we had a good walk. We were all dressed in our "clubbin" clothes and
ready to chill & dance. We had talked Ash into wearing a very cute lil shirt! (must see pics) There were a few people on the floor
and a few guys here and there did hop in w/ us to dance. One guy in particular was foreign and looked very nice except for the ciggy
in his hand. haha! He was just chillin dancing w/ us and then left. We took a break at one point because Jana's side hurt! Then a guy
attempted to "butt in" to our conversation...even though we weren't talking. hahahaha. So I lean over and say "We're taking a break,
cause her side hurts!". hahahah. He proceeds to tell her WHY her side hurts...and to take it easy before heading back out there.
hahaha. IT was hilarious. Right after that his friend starts pointing at me...and then his friend comes OVER to me...and says "I was
just telling my friend that your glasses are very sexy". I was like...Oh really? He says "You don't think so?". I said...well all i know
is they are better than my other ones! haha. He says" Well i don't know what your other ones looked like, but these are sexy" I
said..Thank you. :) How am i supposed to respond to that huh? I'm dancing, having a good time...and BAM...your glasses are sexy.
hahahahaha. So I thanked him and kept on dancing. hahah! Later on in the evening the dance floor completely cleared! There was
not a single person on the floor. The music was AWESOME, but no one was dancing out there. Me & Rochelle were dancing on the
sidelines though. It was very hard to just stand still. Then one dude just comes right up and says "Can i have your ###?". I didn't
even say yes/no...and he said something like "you here all nite? " I said YEP. That was by far the weirdest pickup i've ever seen.
hahahaha. So me & rochelle finally had had enough...and went out there! It was just me and her and 2 other girls standing towards the
sideline dancing. I was working some new belly dance moves and even threw in some Tae Bo knee raises. IT was hilarious!!!!!!!!!
When it slowed down I acted like I was cooling down after a workout. It was great. I could definitely clear out the room! No sooner
did the music start up again...i look over and see Jana & Ash have some company! Oh yea. 2 guys standing there talking to them. I
was starting to get a lil concerned the more they stood there. Not too long after that...we had decided to call it a nite at this club and
attempt to find another that was 18+. So we go over to Ash & Jana and motion that itz time to go. The guy grabs Ash and won't let
go of her and keeps talking w/ her. By this time I'm starting to get "motherly". He has still not let go of her...no matter how many
times we are yelling at her. His "friend" leans over to me...and says..."Why don't you just let Ashley talk" I say...EXCUSE ME?
"Let Ashley talk". I said, NO SIR, she is my cousin and I am responsible for her. I grab ashley's arm and we head out. Of course
"mr. attitude" says "Why are you even f-ing w/ these girsl". I'm like yea...you know i'll take you down. ahhaah! Well i was thinking
that. I had my "face" on. Then he and his friend proceed to follow us...err follow Ashley and now he's apologizing and following us
down the sidewalk. Finally he steps ahead of us and goes away. SHEESH! The rest of that night...we just spent walking around
Deep Ellum because all of the other clubs were winding down by then. We still had fun though! I got enough of a workout to last for
like 2 days!
Saturday (3/15) : We got up around 930-ish and got cleaned up and ready to go! We had all decided on shorts even though I was
leary about it. OY. :) This was my official first time to drive to Six Flags on my own. It was great considering all you have to do is
get on Six Flags drive! hahah! We pulled into the park kinda late (after 11am) and the parking lot was SO packed. I think we parked a
gooooooood walking distance from the front door. I'd say the complete parking lot was 95% full! I guess mostly because it was
spring break...and they were having a lot of stuff going on! We rented a locker at the front to toss all of our cameras & extra stuff in
and then headed out for the first ride! We figured it would be best to start with the Titan cause it is after all the BEST! It was
Rochelle's first time to ride so we were kinda telling here a little about it before we got up to the platform. We got into the first car
and I swear...it didn't make a bit of difference...you STILL couldn't see over that first hill! So meanwhile we're sitting in the car...I'm
getting nervous even though I had ridden it before. hahahaha. I'm screaming on the way UP and the way DOWN...and even through
the small break halfway through the ride! I'm yelling G-FORCE BABY!!! This is one of the best coasters I've been on! Of course
after we get off...our hands are shaking, my knees are weak and itz time to carefully go down the stairs to check out our picture! Well
what was interesting about the picture was the fact that the only person you could see clearly was me? Everyone else had their hair in
their face! I would have SO bought that picture too! hahaha! So we moved on from there to grab a snack. We decided on Runaway
Mountain next. Of course this was a first-timer for me...and itz in the DARK! Well the wait was about the same. 1 hour! Part of
the line takes you by a waterfall of sorts and we were getting splashed like crazee! Inside further it looks as if you are walking
through a cave. So we start dancing and laffing and saying that there should be a new club called the Cave! It just needed some strobe
lights...and music. hahaha. We got on the ride...and there was ONE part I had to squeal on! We kinda did this FAR lean to the left...it
was wild!!! Go figure...no pictures on that one. *wink wink* hah! Then we felt it was time...to eat! I took the cheapest thing on
the menu to just hold me over long enough and not get sick on anymore rides. After that we headed to the bobsled. We figured by the
time we got up there all of our food would have digested and we wouldn't get sick at all! As we were standing in line the girls looked
up at this guy who seemed to have contacts in to make his eyes look WHITE! They yell up to him..."your eyes look weird!". I think
he yelled something silly back. We finally got on the ride and the picture on this one...turned out better, but Rochelle & Jana were
behind a big black bar at the front...so that sucked! haha. By that time...it was getting close to time to head out to the concert arena.
So we run back to the locker for like the 5th time...and attempt to follow the map to the arena. After winding and weaving throughout
the park...we finally come up on it and it just so happened to be near the shockwave where we had wanted to go earlier! hah! We
head in there and find our seats. They were really good! I took the aisle and we were perfectfly centered and about 10-15 rows back!
The first band to come on was from New Zealand called D4. They were alright! I noticed that both SR-71 & Lifehouse came out to
the side stage to watch them. How kewl is that. Then SR-71. These guys did rock da house! The first song I really liked the way
the lead singer kinda did this split thing w/ his legs during part of the song. It looked really kewl. Rochelle was a big fan of them so
shez sittin there singing all the songs! I'm merely dancing around and I did recognize a couple of the songs off of the radio. Whoo
hoo! THEN LIFEHOUSE. Yes, they rocked. Jason was sporting a new haircut. Sean was doing his usual "thang" because he rules
the guitar! They played a mix of the new album & No Name Face. They said goodbye and then we started beating on all the
bleachers for the encore! It was like a rumble of thunder! hah! THEN! They played one or 2 more songs...and ended with Hanging
by a Moment. That was truuuuuuuuly one of the best encores/jam sessions I have seen in a long time! Ahhhhh! I was rockin my
little heart out and dancing and jumping! Some of the songs I sang directly to the Lord because that is how they are set up. Especially
"Everything". Just beautiful!!!!!! After the show we were hoping to meet & greet the band. However, we found out really soon that
you had to buy a CD and get a stamp. Well how fair is that? I already have both of their cds! So we sat there *hopeful* for about 30
minutes after the show and then talked to the security guard. He told us we should have begged sooner! I was so MAD! Poor Ash!
AWW! I did buy a shirt though to remember this experience. Tada! As we were walking out we just jokinly pouted our way around.
Security guards were pointing the way for us. Then I pointed the way a couple of times and took off running. Oh yea we were
having fun! hah! Then on our way out we're thinking to ourselves...we need someone to take our picture! So we flag down this girl
on the bench at the front and she took our picture and then we asked if she had met the band. She did! She had actually seen us
dancing. haha! It was hilarious. But I can't complain because I met the band at Kidd Kraddick's studio and talked with them on air!
hah! So we headed back to the car...and then I got turned around coming out of the park...and we stopped at sonic. Then i finally got
back on the highway...and we are laughing and jamming all the way home to SR-71! I believe we got home just before midnite...in time
to order pizza. So we sat and watched the Blue Man Group and had pizza! MMM! I warned them that NO ONE comes to my
house and doesn't watch the Blue Man. hah! :) So we went to sleep...and dreamed dreams of coasters & music...all nite. *sigh*
